We bought our 206 from a dealer earlier in the year. Last week I was in the car and thinking (probably incorrectly) that my husband had moved the seat backward. I wanted to fix this so pulled a lever on the left side of the drivers seat (it kind of comes out from the floor and has a "triangle" shaped handle on top) and the seat made a hissing sound and rose up (much too my surprise! ). Well - obviously that was the wrong lever to be pulling for what I wanted but now neither of us can make the seat go down. The Owner's Manual we have says nothing about this lever! We have had a few problems with this car and my search on the net suggests that this lever can break easily (or what I assume is this lever) so I am scared to mess around with it too much.
Any suggestions - or should I leave it well alone - my husband will kill me if I stuff it up! Any tips appreciated! This is my very first car (bit of a late bloomer in the driving area) but I think it will be the death of us both! Thanks!

Ok - so I found a manual on line that explained I need to pull this lever again and "push" down with my derrière and the seat will go down. It doesn't. Is this a hydraulic thing? Could it be the mechanism needs to be re-gassed or something? Could that explain the noise that it made when I accidentally make it go up? Please - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
