I moved my drivers seat to get in the back and noticed a sheared bolt underneath.

Its seems like it is to do with the height adjust for the seat as that is no longer working.
I've also checked all the subframe mounting bolts and they are all connected and secure, however the seat does have a slight bit of movement.

I'm going to take the seat out to see exactly what it is, but for MOT purposes, but if it is secure on the subframe is that enough or will it fail due to the movement?

Seems like a suitable excuse to justify changing the interior though Very Happy

TY in advance!

Right... seat is coming out tomorrow for a check as its annoying me.

I've seen a gti interior locally, but its got airbags and my car doesnt. Can I just remove the airbags and use as normal or should I leave them and just fit the seats?

Just leave the airbags in the seat, that's what i did and it passed an MOT, As long as your car isn't meant to have seat airbags. Going by your car being the same as mine id say you'll be fine/

Took the seat out and its the height adjuster pivot bolt thats sheared off.
The seat is secure, but it moves about quite a bit so I've just bought a half leather gti interior to replace it.

No need to remove the passenger seat, the interior will fit in fine if you drop the back seats. Just recline the front seats of your new interior so they are folded flat and you can stack the rear seats and doorcards on top.
