Well I now have the low additive warning come up on the dash. Not sure how long you have until it runs out ? but think for the cost of the fluid and getting it refilled and the BSI reset I may bite the bullet and have the dpf removed completely. Found a company near me that say they can do it for £250 www.davchiptuning.co.uk/dpf.html and hopefully with that gone I'll have a good reliable 206 GTI HDI
Will report back on the results when its done.

It's always been illegal to remove the DPF under Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulation 61 as it no longer complies to the emission standards that were in place when the vehicle was new. The companies that offer the DPF removal service have always risked being prosecuted for causing a vehicle not to meet the required standard.
It's always had a blind eye turned to it, but from 1st February, VOSA/DfT may decide to bring prosecutions against both these removal companies and the drivers.

I can see a lot of cheap diesels up for sale over the next 12 months because people won't want to pay more than the car is worth to get it through the MOT.

From what i have been told by MOT testers its only a visual check on MOT. So if it was hollowed out then in theory they cannot tell...

Thanks for the tip guys. It does seem that as of Feb 2014 they are getting strict on this but as said above it seems its only a visual so if I do have it done it will be to hollow out the dpf and leave it in situ so as to appear visually correct. Before I do this can anyone tell me the capacity of the eoly's tank and how much would be needed from the low warning light, been quoted £100 for 1ltr and to reset the BSI
Cheers

Its a visual check, and on your note macca that they could prosicute, surely they could have done halfords when they sold pressed plates. s**t all will happen and i can safely say this is how will it go:

MOT tester 1 : Oh look its got a FAP filter - Pass

MOT tester 2: Its got a box with pipes coming out of it, f*** knows what it is - Pass

MOT tester 3: Whats a FAP? - Pass

MOT tester 4: Its car with 4 wheels and isnt dangerous, I dont give a f*** - Pass
