Hi all

I have a 1.9 diesel non turbo 206. I need to change the alternator and unsure which one. I have put an ask out on a breakers multi site and have found one for £35 with 6 months warranty. I went to order and they asked for a cl number? I can't get to the alternator to find the cl number. Can anyone help me out, do you know the number? My car has a/c if that helps??

Im sure they can shed some light about what alternator is on the car.

Give the numberplate to the parts department. They use servicebox. Sorted

I tried guy perry Peugeot in barrow in Furness but the guy was just so unhelpful. Said I was wasting his time for no monetary gain! He didn't let me finish in that I wanted to buy an aux belt too. They tried charging my gran, who's car it is, £50 to come collect it even before looking at what's wrong. Then a few years back a coolant hose split and they fit a new radiator and 3 hoses for some reason and charged her £360 for the privilege. Arses

Based on your VIN. New price £420.28. Exchange unit £183.11 Both with a £40.30 surcharge for the old unit.

Give EK on Andrew Way (behind the fire station) a ring and see what sort of price they can do for a service exchange unit. I've found them pretty reasonable on price in the past.

When I needed an alternator I got the CL part number from a sticker. You will probably need a long reach mirror and torch to see behind.
