Hi,

I have a 2002 Peugeot 206 1.4 HDI,

We have been having some issues with it hesitating under load, cutting out, and sometimes not starting.

We have taken it to a garage and replaced the fuel pipes which run across the top of the engine which I believe is a common issue with the HDI's, problem still remains.

When priming the fuel system with the priming bulb, is that supposed to go hard?

There are a few bubbles which flow through the clear tube in front of the priming bulb when I try to prime it.

Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Thanks in advance

Gav

Well the priming bulbs should get hard as a rock,as you can't push it any further, but if it stays soft and got bubbles, that means there is air in the fuel system, and that what cause the problem, you need to double check the fuel lines, and make sure no leaks.

Thanks for the quick reply, it's back at the garage at the moment, and with it being a Bank Holiday it won't be looked at again til Tuesday.

I did notice that we could still squeeze the priming bulb, so air is still getting in.

I shall be back Tuesday to update.

Thanks a lot

It's very common for the fuel line behind the air box the rub and break through.

I believe it's an easy repair.
