Hello
So here goes.. I have an 03 206 2.0l hdi, 100,000 miles with a "little" problem..
It started with the vibrating/shaking when you brake between 50 and 40 mph.. not at any other speeds.. then it has now developed to between 50 and 35 with the worst vibrations being between 40 and 35 (i cant hold the steeering wheel at times.. It also pulls to the left when doing so.. I had the passenger hub replaced and still the problem proceeds.. checked tracking and balancing fine.. had some other work done t the same time as tracking and balancing (springs and a top strut bearing) and it now has a shake in the gear stick when accelerating in 2nd gear.. (i can only describe this in my women way as feeling as though its wheel spinning when it isnt actually wheel spinning)
We had the tracking and balancing looked at as it vibrated above 75mph.. we also changed the wheels over from front to back and the vbrations have stopped above 70.. below 70 is a different story!! on particular road surfaces it vibrates from 50 up to 70!!! but only on some road surfaces (the really smooth tarmac!!!)
through all this there has been no change to the vibrating while braking aside from adding another 5mph to when i cant seem to hold the steering wheel and try not to brake as its a pain!!
It's been to garages and they say they cannot see anything obvious? Is this likely to be driveshafts?? or something worse?? or 2 different problems?? we have had the discs and pads changed on the car recently too and also had them checked an #d they are not warped..
o and one last thing.. it is a little shaky when you drive around and accelerate but these problems make that look very little and small!!
Sorry for the wishy washy description.. female not really understanding here

Got same engine, mileage, year as yourself, just been through the same senario, apart from the vibrating, go to the back wheels, and feel round the top of the tyre to the chassis, see if there is a gap difference (both sides) the smaller gap will indicate the the trailing arm bearing is on its way out, causing the wheel to lean inwards at the top. (at a guess your n/s will have the smaller gap as it is pulling to the left)
