Its over due a service & the engine diagnostic light is on.

Getting the fault codes read would be a start.

the engine diagnostic light has nothing to do with this. The light is for Anti Pollution fault which I know how to fix it

Have you checked the fluid levels?

I've seen quite a few 'cheap' auto 206's as spares/repair, but it doesn't take too long to google and realise that the auto boxes seem to be quite cheap (AL4 gearbox).

Check the autobox fluid, consider changing it before it gets any worse

Have you had the codes read recently ie the last 24 hours? If not then a P07xx or a P17xx could be lurking.

I wouldn't bother using a generic code reader as they don't always pick up every fault (even the expensive all singing, all dancing Snap On ones). Find someone with PP2000 and get the car scanned.

They are cheap because they break easy, although might not be cheap in Malaysia.

My workshop guy used Peugeot Planet and it read no problem with AL4 gearbox. Pressure n temperature were ok and solenoid too. Changed the gearbox oil too but problem persists.

I just diagnosed with PP2000 again n it shows "Remote Permanent Fault: CAN engine torque information. No signal". Could this be related?

Hi Melwong, there is a MAP ( Manifold Absolute Pressure ) sensor, this is located on fuel inlet manifold and there is only one bolt holding it. And there is another sensor which is located on the throttle body.
Both sensors are wired. I don't know what year model is your car, but mine is 206 auto 1.6 2004 petrol.
you may find different sensors on different models. I hope this will be of some help. Do not hesitate to contact me, how you getting on with the problems.

I own peugeot 206 1.6 xsi auto petrol 2004

Check ABS ring, live data reading would help.
