I'm not a massive car person so sorry if some of the details are a bit vague. I have a 51Reg 206 LX 1.4L Petrol. I replaced the back box in January 2014 due to the fact the fibre glass started coming out the exhaust pipe plus there was some corrosion which caused the pipe going into the back box to split and the box dropped down. I haven't been driving my car as frequently for the last 10 weeks when previously I did 200+ miles a week. I started my car yesterday and noticed the car was running more loudly than usual. I put this down to the cold but as I was driving it was getting louder. Now my exhaust is blowing badly but there's nothing visibly wrong with it! It was only replaced a year ago so surely nothing should be wrong with it? If not the exhaust I can't think what could be wrong. Most major components in the car have been replaced over the years. Any advice on what this could be? Will be taking the car back to the garage that fitted it but is there anything that it could be that I could easily fix myself? Any suggestions would be great! (My car capabilities probably go as far as replacing a coil pack but that's about it).
