Hi.

My gt is really odd, on big rolling bumpy roads its ok but as soon as it starts hitting small rattly type bumps it becomes unstable, the streering will dance about left to right, if braking on the same types of bumps it will try and turn left suddenly or right depending on which sides the bumps are, i can feel the left trying to pull left but the right is ok or other way round. Its a odd movement.

On roads that are worn under weight it will try and follow these worn roads.

In wind its really odd, it feels if its streering from the rear, it will sway side to side in a s shape without me doing a thing with the streering, to compensate for this i,m streering right ir left on a straight road. Its a dam nightmare in wind, will only do 65 safely just.

Monday i,m having new front shocks and strut mounts.

The track rod ends are ok. The bushes are also fine.

The rear left wheel is starting to lob over, its about a pen size gap between tyer iner wheel arch, could this be making the car rear stree.

If i need a new rear axle wheres a good place to buy a referb from?

Kate

Sounds like the rear axles had it to me I've used IMAXLES in the past and been very happy with the service and parts think it's around 220 quid from them now

Possibly worth an alignment check. Hit any big holes or kerbs hardc recently?

Ohh dear the car in the last few days has taken a turn for the worse, i,m so pleased its going in tomorrow, under power it wants to go right then braking it wants to go left, over small bumps the streering is nuts its shakes all over, at very low speeds the streering slowly goes side to side about half an inch.
If i increase the speed slightly the streering then starts shaking,

I live on a farm so have to drive half a mile on a bumpy track its not that bad to be honest just left a stone track, its fast becoming too much, the weaving is the rear axle but the shaking so on is from front end, i,m bothered if the problem isn't found it will have to come off the road.

The wheels are the nimrods which came with it when new, i wonder if there's a fault in them, i,ve change the front right to the spair but its the same.

I,m limited to 65 mph at moment, go over that and its a full workout. I can feel at 60 a thumping feeling through the streering as well as shaking.
its had new lower bottom arms. Its getting new shocks and struts, the right shock is leaking so its not performing as it should.

Help i have a sick GT.

I get a sneaky suspicion that this will put a sizeable dent in your back pocket unfortunately.

Thanks and don't i know it, my dam debt card can't take no more lol,

As i know it, you got antiroll bushes and they are ok. The mot from last owner stated antiroll bush pins have play and wasn't sorted.
the shocks and strut mounts are old and has done 100000 miles, right shock is weak due to leak, i,m having sachs shocks tomorrow fitted to front, with new struts.
