Hi guys my 1.4 8v y reg 206 beeps at me when I take the key out the ignition. It beeps twice three times. And the tone of the beeps are multiple tones if you know what I mean..any ideas? I don't leave my lights on but I assume it's because it's telling me something is left on? A few weeks ago my battery died completely so wondering if anything is draining battery?

I have an aftermarket stereo fitted and have swapped the red and yellow wires to make it remember my radio stations and settings etc if it may be this?

Cheers

I used to have this with my 02 reg with aftermarket stereo, it stopped beeping when I removed the stereo from the unit, so I'm not sure whether it was that.

If you turn the ignition off but don't take the keys out do you still get the beeps?

I unplugged the cd player and it didn't beep when I took the keys out. Refitted cd player and it beeps again so I guess at least in my car I'm getting beeps because the ignition/perm live wires are swapped for my cd player settings lol. Oh well

Does your radio work without the keys in the ignition?

Its your stereo reminding you to remove the fascia to deter thieves.

I love how you're the first person to think of this. It's the most simple, yet probably correct...

Mine does the same, and it states in the stereo manual that this is why it happens Smile
