Hi new around here and new to owning a 206. I became the pound owner of a 1.6hdi 5 door sport just about a month ago and very impressed so far.
I have been having a couple of problems with the muilti function display illuminating after getting that working all seemed good and may well be but this evening just before dark I was out and struggled to read the dials no headlights on. My question is should the dails and heater control illumination be on even without the headlights as I'm sure it used to be or just when headlights are on?

On mine (multiplexed, not sure if that makes a difference) the dash/instrument lights do not come on unless I explicitly turn on the lights (and this despite the dipped beam and rear lights coming on automatically with the ignition, by law (version before we harmonized with EU on DRLs) despite the switch in the 0 position.

Thanks for the reply think I'm probably worrying about nothing and all is ok then. Just seemed strange my muilti function display is always lit up but the dials/heater controls are not. Was worried in sorting the mfd I'd messed something else up.

The displays need the back lighting on for you to see the info. When the lights are turned on the displays actually dim (lights on implies darkness vs lights off = daylight, and the displays need to be brighter in daylight to be readable and dimmer at night to not be overly bright.
