Hi - im new here so sorry if this has been answered before!!!
I've just got my daughter a 51 plate 206 & it came with one key with transponder chip - the guts of the remote are gone & I can't find the code card - dealer & lock smith want upwards of £150-200 for a new remote key/codes/chip etc but that's doesn't seem worthwhile - I've heard you can get the codes for £5 off other members & then you can somehow program a "Virgin" key off eBay using pp2000 - is this something I can do or can anyone recommend someone in the Cambridge area that can do this cheaper. My only other option is paying £60 for just a key that will manually unlock doors & start car to keep as a spare as if she loses the only one she's got were buggered!!!!
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Jo

51 plate is change over point for the 2 different electrical systems used on the 206.
We need to know what electrical system your 206 has first as the keys & immobilizer chips used are different.
Do you know if it is non plexed OR multiplexed? Link explains.
www.206info.co.uk/Foru...=1675.html
Non plexed virgin remote keys are now very hard to get hold of but not impossible.
The programing is the same via Peugeot Planet on any 206 but you have to have the correct spec virgin key else it just wont work.
The security code you need to allow access in to program keys will be 4 digit & alphanumeric.

Multiplexed 206 keys are easy to get - choice of 4.
If you want, PM the VIN number & ill look the correct part number & price up for you on Peugeot Service Box.

Code card isnt a problem.
You mentioned online sources
Also any Peugeot main dealer will supply the codes ( some will even provide it FREE or for a small fee, ask first )
As long as you produce the proof of ownership for the car ( V5C registration document ) & photo ID.
The proof of ownership & photo ID thing is a requirement for any security code / key / lock being requested / ordered at a Peugeot main dealer.
Last time I checked a new multiplexed 206 remote key supplied but NOT coded was about £70.
Its the coding the keys to car where the main cost it.

Just had a look & virgin remote fob with virgin transponder chip will be either £61.24 or £71.72 ( both those prices are including the VAT ) depending which type out the 4 choices it is ( need VIN for that )
A standard NON remote transponder key supplied is £27.54.
There are cheaper online source for the keys & blades once we know the part number you require.
Some 206 can only have 1 remote fob depending on car original spec, wont know until I check the VIN.

Ok
Service Box says this 206 originally came with 1 remote key fob & 1 non remote transponder key.
Part number for the remote fob is 6554 YL - Door Transmitter = £71.72.
I'd be tempted to source a new fob online, get the blade cut to match your current key & then get the keys coded.
On a 206 ALL the keys have to be coded via Peugeot Planet at the same time!
The key you have at moment is basically acting as your non remote transponder key
