Hi all,
I'm planing to make a swap engine on my car, replace the 1.4hdi with 1.6Hdi engine.
I already have the complete front of the car with new 1.6hdi engine. My car is from 2005, and the 1.6 from 2004.
My question is, if i change only the engine, gearbox, ecu, bsi, key, fuel pump from the tank(i don't know if is really necessary) and engine wiring will be ok? And not swap the entire wiring of the car. I have the same Ecu on my car, Bosch Injection.
I don't know if there is some difference between wires from the ECU to BSI between 1.4 and 1.6.
Many thanks
George

Don't bother. It's a terrible engine. You'll also need the complete exhaust system with dpf and the ad blue tank.

Exhaust would not be a problem. I already have a custom exhaust on 1.4 and i will have to make adaption and DPF off. I was thinking that i will start from 109hp instead of 68hp.
My 1.4 isn't stock, i have Garrett GT15, FMIC, Exhaust, EGR off and boost controller on it... And, if i have the 1.6 engine... for free, i wanna make around 170-180hp from it.
The 1.6 is not that strong as 1.4?

The DV6 engine is the biggest pile of w**k PSA Peugeot / Citroen has ever produced.
Find a DW10 equipped 206 & tune that up instead.

Personally, I wouldn't go to the trouble of swapping the engine from the 1.4 to the 1.6 HDi. Just buy a car that already has this engine in it. Would save so much time and effort.

I'd say crack on if you have the time to play with it.
Yes the 1.6 is renowned for eating turbo's and injector seals. But keep on top of the servicing and be generous with oil changes using OE spec oil and should drive on an be fine.
