Hello All,
Well I updated the MFD display in my 206,from single line to Multi line model Smile it looks much better now,but since my car don't have an outside temp. sensor fitted,it's not showing the temp. as it should.
I have checked the BSI with PP2000,and activated the temp. sensor there,and checked the MFD,and it's showing a fault,which is the temp sensor reading is missing.
So my question as this,anyone in here have retro fitting a temp. sensor before,if so what is the steps,and what I need to do.

Thank you all for reading,and your help.

Cheers,
Tim

The sensor can be had separately and placed in the bottom of the passenger mirror, but it's fiddly. maybe better get a mirror which already has one fitted.
Then also run the wiring to the connector in the corner of the door the mirror plugs into if the car doesn't have it.

Well the fiddly part you mentioned,is done,sensor is place inside the mirror,and wires are ready to be connected,I have a plug with three wires connected to it only,2 green wires,and one brown,I have tried connecting the 2 black wires from outside temp. sensor,but not joy,so as you can in the pic,that is the wires I got,can I use them to have the outside temp. sensor work or not? and if not what should I do to get this work.

Digging through the diagrams in the How-To section, diagram 6 for multiplexed says the sensor normally goes to pin 3 & 4 in the socket of the mirror (at least for motorized mirrors), using wires B433 and B434 to run to pins 18 and 8 on a white 40 pin connector on the BSI.

If the wires you connected it carried +12V and ground, you might have fried the sensor (no idea what it can tolerate), going by the diagram it connects to 'electronics' in the BSI.

Not sure what your car has / hasn't got in the shape of unused wires in the harnesses...

Mtempsch-Thank you so much for you second reply :),I have seen that diagram,and I read it...the wires is not B433-B434 ,it's 6433 and 6434 according to the diagram.

I have not checked the plugs in the BSI or if there is voltage in the the plug in door harness.well see how things goes,and update here.

I have also upgraded to the multi-line display, everything works except outdoor temperature, which shows --C. Tried to connect a temperature sensor in to wires 6433 and 6434 directly from the white connector in the BSI. Have also tried shorting these two wires ( 0 ohms should represent some kind of temperature?) But the display only shows --C .

Has anyone ever succeded in getting outdoor temperature displayed on upgraded display???

BSI configuration needs to be told there is an outside temperature sensor fitted.

You can't just connect things up to a CAN system & expect them to work, BSI needs to know what's connected before it will talk to it.

Thanx for the replies, guys Smile I tried to connect a NTC sensor, since we have loads of used ones at work, read somewhere that NTC was the correct type. And I assumed the BSI was already ready, since radio/CD info, door/seat belt alerts etc worked instantly. Assumption is the mother of all FU Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes I will take it to the local stealer this Friday, and ask them to set the BSI right, and buy a original sensor if necessary Smile Luckily wires from BSI to door connector is already present, so it will be a milk run routing new wires the rest of the way up to the passenger mirror Cool

Looking forward to getting this sorted, outdoor temperature displayed is an important safety feature up here in Northern-Norway, with constantly changing weather conditions, swinging both sides of zero degrees C Mr. Green

I actually ended up buying the ebay diagnose kit. So now I have tried activating the temperature sensor in PP2000, without any luck. Did this(from a Peugeot Partner forum);

Top of the menu-Replacement Parts->Multifunction display->AMF->Configuration of options->External temperature display->Present.

Also, ECU->Test by ECU->BSI->Configuration->Customer Options->Passenger Compartment->External temperature sensor->Present.

Tried with wires 6433 and 6433 shorted, or with a NTC sensor connected, but the display still only shows --C
Maybe it should be wired elsewhere into the BSI(couldnt get access to PP2000 wiring diagram, password requested on website), or maybe I need the original sensor.

Starting to give up on this matter, maybe I should just deactivate external temperature display :,(

Finally, success! Smile i ordered the 6445 F9 sensor ( thanx Gazza82), turns out that there is a small deviation between a standard NTC sensor, and the PSA type. I found out, because suddenly the display switched from --C to -40C, when it was infact 10C outside Razz .
