Hi all.
Im new to this forum and this is my first post.
I have just purchased a 1.4HDi 206 on an 04 plate with 70k on the clock.
Whilst driving it home I noticed an intermittent noise coming from the front of the car.
It sounded like the noise Wipers make when it's very cold on a dry screen. Like a rubbing squeak which lasts about one second.
(The Wipers were not on by the way)
It didn't seem to do it when stationary in traffic just while driving and even then sporadically.
I rang previous owner and they said it has always done it.
Has anyone came across this before?
Thanks in advance.

When mine started to make odd noises it was the auxiliary belt. Then the bottom crank pulley also failed. Check these first.

Also when was the cambelt last changed ... ?

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

Jack one front wheel up and put the car in gear (take all precautions), to see if you can hear the sound.

May it be squeaky brake pads? Should then go away under braking
