Hi

I did a post the other week about noticing a small loss in power on my Gti 180, especially in acceleration.
A few things I have read on other posts of people having a similar problem have been resolved by cleaning the MAF sensor.

Now I believe the pug 206 gti doesn't have a MAF sensor but does have a MAP sensor instead, so my questions are...

1) Does the MAP work like the MAF sensor? And could cleaning/replacing it help?
2) Where exactly is it located on the Gti? I have tried looking online but can't find any photos or diagrams specifically for the 206 Gti.

Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi Wolf

The Gti 180 only has the MAP sensor and not the MAF.
Peugeot and Citroen diesel engines, the Hdi models, usually have the MAF sensor.

The MAP sensor measures the pressure in the intake manifold whereas the MAF sensor measures the airflow prior to the air filter.

Depending on your symptoms I would google 'symptoms of a faulty MAP sensor' and also 'symptoms of a faulty throttle position sensor' as they can both cause similar symptoms sometimes when faulty.
Hopefully you can narrow down the offending sensor.

Regards

Andy

Map sensor is built into the throttle body.

I had to change my MAP sensor a few months back on my 180, it's on the throttle body. 1 bolt and a plug and its off
