Teaser picture from Pug1off!

Internals re-assembled and timed up by the looks. I was told by Sim at Pugfest I ought to elaborate on the spec so here goes:

Wossner high compression pistons (11.8 to 1, although this may be lower due to machine work to the head domes, they will have worked this out I am yet to speak to them)
PEC rods and ARP bolts
King race bearings
Pug1off billet flywheel
Pug1off port and polished headwork
Kent PT40 Camshaft
Piper upgraded springs and retainers
Piper Vernier Pulley
Cometic head gasket
Helix upgrade clutch bearing
106 S1 Rallye inlet
City Radiators custom radiator (40mm thick over standard 19mm)
1.1 gearbox with AX 4x4 5th gear ratio
1.6 injectors for now, will see how it goes or what Pug1off recommend
NGK sparks
4-2-1 manifold
2.25 inch exhaust system with 200 cell cat
Power flex polybushes
4H Tech quickshift
Pug1off gear linkage set
MTEC disxs
Ferodo DS2500 pads
Braided lines
GTi 180 front ARB
Eibach/Bilstein
180 rear axle with Peugeot Sport 21mm torsion bars
And probably some other bits I forgot

I'm really looking forward to driving this car again it has been far too long. Fingers crossed its sometime soon!

Nice long-as-an-arm list of specs! I'm curious as to what ultimately led to the choices of makes and models of those Wink

Cheers Stu, it's back on the road now. It was nice to drive it home from Pug1off, the first time it had driven in nearly 4 years. I now have to run it in which means no more than half revs or half throttle for a thousand miles so I'm just doing laps around the local village when I get time. Then it will be time for an oil change.

On the recommendation of Pug1Off I'm booked in with RS Tuning in the next couple of weeks to hopefully get it mapped as with the nature of these modifications it is quite telling of needing some software alterations. A couple of flat spots here and there and a little hesitant when pulling away from a stop that's all. Pug1off were excellent in the face of a frustrating job for them, all hardware is pretty much sorted it's just software now and then time to enjoy.

Well 10 months after last update a fair amount has been done. This includes, and is largely thanks to PUG1OFF:
- Downsized exhaust system from 2.5 to 2.25 as it was just rediculously loud even with a mid-box. It drives better just because of this. (DKU Performance custom job)
- Alfa Romeo 2.0 T Spark Injectors
- Rear disc conversion and transferred 180 ARB to join existing Grp N torsion bars. Poly bushed.
- Replaced suspension with H&R Cup Kit. Softer than old Eibach from Pez, I think because his was a 2ltr HDi. It was shaking the car too bits just going over a manhole cover.
- Cupra R Splitter and customised Zunsport grille.
- Sniffed CAN system to see how much work will be needed to make a Pro Tune ECU work.

I plan to get them to do a turbo set up, circa 280hp, with upgraded gearbox input shaft bearing and diff. They will have to either Mill the high compression pistons down, or change for low comp pistons to do this. Everything else is already in place in terms of engine internals strength.

Ho-ly... that's looking good will have to make time to read the whole thread later on, 280bhp should be fun but what's it running at the moment?

Nice one buddy! I kept catching a glimpse of this 206 on your YouTube channel next to the new detailing van, kudos for keeping it all French!
It's been nearly a year since we saw your project in flesh and steel, I bet VorTechS is keen to see the transformations since his last shotgun ride Very Happy

I sure am!

Even though it was only being gently run-in when I got a ride, you could feel the potential! Nothing but <3 for this car.... Smile

Cheers guys muchos appreciated! Since Stu had a ride it runs a lot better now, we just need to get this ECU on the car. I can't believe that was a year ago already.

So a very long time no speak once again.

The car has been sat for around four months and driving it today the throttle pedal started getting stuck, but only on partial throttle. That was fun!

A good phone call with Matt @ PUG1OFF was due anyway to plan the next step for this car. So the FBW system is going to be binned anyway! Some may think it is crazy for this engine, but we are going down the route of upgrading the cam even further for something quite spicy from CatCams, and fit some 42mm Jenvey ITB's on top of an Emerald ECU. This work will be going ahead late spring/early summer. After that, I would like to get the bodywork tidied up, and then have a Quaife ATB diff fitted to finish this project off. Once these things are done, I doubt there will be much left of anything to change!

Long awaited updates; and binning FBW for the 2nd time in the history of this project is certainly not for the faint-hearted Very Happy
