#12: Re: new badgeless grill and tints Author: dan_206, Location: Bury St EdmundsPosted: Thu Jun 10, 2010 2:45 pm ---- Side lights can only be white or yellow. Blue lights are for emergancy service vehicals only. I got pulled when i had some, but had white ones in the car so changed them then and there and was let on my way. Never put them back in since.
Car is looking good though mate what else you got planned.
#13: Re: new badgeless grill and tints Author: Bailey, Location: Finding Dr. RobotnikPosted: Thu Jun 10, 2010 2:52 pm ---- Meady see what dan said. Blue lights are for emergency vehicles only and are highly illegal.

So.. are you saying that he got a ticket for having a blue bulb, which is the same as having other colour other than yellow or white?
Or are you saying it's illegal to not have sidelight bulbs in?
But yes it is illegal from personal experience. When I had mine they were extremely bright blue but when I put the normal headlights on they were hardly noticeable so only used them really when parked and for photos.
#18: Re: new badgeless grill and tints Author: meady, Location: basingstokePosted: Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:46 am ---- Its ilegal not 2 have sidelights, they said if he had both they would be fine as long as they dont flash
#19: Re: new badgeless grill and tints Author: Danw_VVT, Location: Herts/LondonPosted: Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:52 am ---- the dept of transport state that only white lights should be visable from the front of the car with exception to yellow/amber for indicators. no other colours should be seen on the front. meaning blue is illegal... blue tint you can get away with.
#20: Re: new badgeless grill and tints Author: meady, Location: basingstokePosted: Fri Jun 18, 2010 9:01 am ---- What hapens with underbody neons then as nothing is stated bout lights under the car
#21: Re: new badgeless grill and tints Author: Danw_VVT, Location: Herts/LondonPosted: Fri Jun 18, 2010 9:12 am ---- as long as they are not blue or green or the bulb is not visible you can get away with them aslong again as they are white front, red rear,
if you want orange they should only come on when indicators do
white rear only on when reverse
sides should be orange that only come on with side repeaters.
this is what i was emailed a while back from dept of transport.
#22: Re: new badgeless grill and tints Author: Mike_XS, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Sun Jun 20, 2010 6:00 am ---- I've got the same blue sidelights on my angels, never had any issues with the police. They are illegal, but as long as you drive sensibly you shouldn't get any bother
