Meady see what dan said. Blue lights are for emergency vehicles only and are highly illegal.
BUT they didnt give him a ticket for having blue sidelights they gave him the ticket for not having the yellow/white sidelights.

So.. are you saying that he got a ticket for having a blue bulb, which is the same as having other colour other than yellow or white? Laughing

Or are you saying it's illegal to not have sidelight bulbs in?

But yes it is illegal from personal experience. When I had mine they were extremely bright blue but when I put the normal headlights on they were hardly noticeable so only used them really when parked and for photos.

the dept of transport state that only white lights should be visable from the front of the car with exception to yellow/amber for indicators. no other colours should be seen on the front. meaning blue is illegal... blue tint you can get away with.

as long as they are not blue or green or the bulb is not visible you can get away with them aslong again as they are white front, red rear,

if you want orange they should only come on when indicators do

white rear only on when reverse

sides should be orange that only come on with side repeaters.

this is what i was emailed a while back from dept of transport.

I've got the same blue sidelights on my angels, never had any issues with the police. They are illegal, but as long as you drive sensibly you shouldn't get any bother
