#1: Goodbye my lover....goodbye my friend :( new pics pg 3 Author: The_Stig, Location: StirlingPosted: Sat Jun 12, 2010 5:01 pm ---- well as iv posted up today, my beloved tara is dead
after 4 days hard graft this week making her all perfect
new clutch, new wishbones and droplinks, alloys refurbed, cc'd, bumper respray, wings re-painted, exhaust de-cat'd, and proxes all round!!
sods law, actually sick to the stomach
So heres some pics, didnt take many but ill try to explain as well as i can!!
i was coming towards the bus, it decided that on a blind bend it wanted to be on my side of the road (the bus reversed to where it was in the pic afterwards!)
the road is easily big enough for 2 cars to pass, i know the road well, and have travelled up it for years
due to the bus being across my side of the road i took avoiding action and went up the verge (approx where the piggy car is sat!)
as the car left the verge it obviously was a little sideyways, but it wouldve straightened if there hadnt been the merc there...so to avoid a head on collision i let the car spin out the other way, thus causing the impact between the rear quarter of my car, and the front wing of the merc!!
from this i then ended up through a hedge and in a field
funny thing was, i werent even going bloody fast
no airbags when off in any of the cars....
my car in the field
damage to tara
never got pics of the merc :S
tbh, i wasnt in a good way, as i was struggling to breath with cracked ribs in the front top left of my chest!
sorry if this dont make sense, im high as a kite on painkillers co codamol is my new friend
will put more pics up tomorrow when its light!!
so farewell tara, you will be missed Last edited by The_Stig on Mon Jun 14, 2010 5:05 am; edited 1 time in total

it was an old leyland, so think tbh id be dead!!
the police gave me the buses insurance and told me to get my insurance company to prosecute!!
the police arent prosecuting anyone!! which tbh works in my favour as i can atleast approach my insurance company with the fact that if id been driving recklesly the police would have done me for driving without due care, or careless driving!!
fingers crossed now

yeh but most insurance companys will put you at fault as you did not keep control of the car. although mention that the police said the bus driver was at fault.
fingers crossed now

Trouble is, the same can be said for the bus driver. I can't see you getting anything from the buses insurance, but I think you will end up paying out for the merc you hit. Hope I'm wrong for your sake though.

Your the second person in the past week or so that has had a crash and they haven't gone off. I am worried about mine now. =-/ As most of my driving is on high speed roads.. Don't fancy crashing and having to find out that they don't work at 50/60+ mph.
#30: Re: Goodbye my lover....goodbye my friend :( Author: molly, Location: WalesPosted: Sun Jun 13, 2010 5:37 am ---- I thought the airbags sensors were at the front of the car and unless you hit from the front, they dont go off :S
Am I wrong?

If you've ever been to a scrappy you'll find that its unbelievable the amount of 206s there with undeployed airbags, so much as id say of the 30+ cars ranging from 1.1s-180s, i've only seen 2 where the airbags actually deployed
