***** NEW UPDATE ON PAGE 6!!! ******

ok so been a while and thought id update the OP so its current. lol

i bought the pug about 3 years ago now. when i bought it it was standard and a ex disabled car.

spec was :

1.4 16v sport 5 door tornado alloys sports interior elec windows a/c etc.

SPEC NOW:
REFLEX CAT BACK STAINLESS SYSTEM
RACELAND 4-2-1 MANIFOLD
POWERFLOW DECAT MID SECTION
GE quickshift
OEM GTI spoiler
cc'd door mirrors
cc'd bonnet vent
cc'd interior console
fly eye optics all round
custom tornado red engine detail
8000k HID's
MAK 14" alloys
BMC panel filter
de-badged
de-wipered
custom sound system

next: lower 40mm and new alloys!

straight away i knew i would mod it and wanted to try somethin daring. so went for a bit of red spraying.

so i sprayed the bonnet vents tornado red and added some Red RC lion decals. also changed the alloys to some MAK 14"s as they had better tyres on.
After a while i added some 8000k HID's as i had previously got used to driving audi S4's etc with them in and prefered HID's.

then i saw the error of my ways n took off the RC lions and evenutally the front and rear sun strips.

then came the proper modding.

so next job was engine bay plastics in tornado red ( red engine is somethin ive always done)

after this i debadged the rear and placed a nice white info sticker on the rear and front

then came the time for a new exhaust so got a custom reflex oval made by R-Tec

then i took the black stickers that come factory off the door pilliars

before

during

after

after that i got the dorr mirrors and interior console colour coded to iron met grey

after that i wanted the car to look a bit more agressive so went with the fly eye tints all round

then we started modding the golf Razz

after a while i gave it a good clean and added a drift charm

then more performance in the form of a straight through center section and BMC panel filter

then added a GE quickshift which made the car feel alot better

and got a spoiler off CD-vRS

added a britishmods sticker to!

and thats how she is today.

next is to get a quiter exhaust as the missus will be having her soon and also lower 40mm and some new alloys.

comments welcome!!

Lion would look good in blue I reckon.
Red on grey is not the best tbh.

***** UPDATE*******

hey guys just a quick update.

took the RC lions off at the weekend. gave it a wash clay polish and wax looks great!!

206info stickers arrived and put on look really good.

dad is on holiday next week when he comes back he is spraying my mirrors gloss black for me Smile

will post pics up once mirrors are done.

also think i have decided on colour scheme. going to get i lowered and spoiler splitter.

wheels im still going for hockenhiems but think white will look good. what you think?

also the other day i took off the cone induction kit. i havent got money atm but get as bonus end of month. so was thinking of replacing with a bmc panel filter. which will leave me around £50 for another mod this month..... any ideas on what to do to it for £50?

debadge? thats free!

or you can get a spoiler +delivered for £50 so id do that and get your dad to spray and fit it for you.

already debadged Razz one of the first things....

i was thinking spoiler. would like a gti one really. are they about £50 then?

trying to sell standard wheels to get a bit of extra cash so i can get a splitter aswell.
o and i have also decided white wheels now. my mate had bronze tried them and werent to sure. but think white will be good Smile

did you get the center console sorted mate?

If you are going to lower 60mm you will need to uprate the shocks as well. The shortened springs will rape the standard shocks in a matter of months.

I also think that you should pull off the black stickers on the door pillars and CC the wing mirrors...

#12: Re: Dan_pug206sport 1.4 **update** Author: Danw_VVT, Location: Herts/London PostPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 4:56 am

wing mirrors are being sprayed gloss black this month.... i was thinking about the black getting that sprayed black as the plastic roof bits will in time be sprayed to for convinience when polishing.....

is there a how to with the door stickers as slightly worried about pulling them off?

so was off for 2 weeks hence why i havent been on here much.

didnt realise so much could happen in two weeks! and cost so much!

ill start with the good!

i got my door mirrors back early fitted them and i am chuffed with how much they make the car look cleaner and fresher!

i also took howeys advice and removed the door pilliar sticker, was so easy and again set the detial of the car off nicely! only problem was from where i had a new door fitted and sprayed the bodyshop stuck the sticker on with fresh paint makin it rather difficult to get the sticky residue off !
what you think?

before

during

after

also a 50/50 of my center console Razz

i also gave it a good clean and clay with all this stuff!!!

my new polisher! chicago phnuematic CP8210 retails at £350!!!

after claying!

we also got another addition! a 1.6 glxi skoda felicia ( it was given i did not spend a penny on it! lol) its in a right state but will make it a lil project to fix and sell!

its same colour as this one!

now for the bad! Sad

my lovely 6 month old puppy jack russel turned out to be not very well. costing me a fiar bit and putting the purchase of my coils on hold!

here is russel

he had a dislocated leg and needed major surgery! he now has to spend 4 weeks in a cage to let it heal!

his wound!

and the main CR*P thing is a stupid girl in her red KA decided to turn a corner whilst looking the other way!
the result is as below which is also crap s my car wont be in for fixing until 8th sept! so i will have this mess for TRAX! Sad really wanted to cry!

so next step is to get car repair finally purchase my coils! get bonnet vent resprayed fly eye the lights when the kit comes after trax and buy some alloys of DSG!

lol

comments welcome

o and so you can put a face to the name a pict of me (right as i know some1 will comment) my missus left and our lil boy archie in center!

no i dont atm putting fog back due to fly eyes Razz will be doing the one to the arch lining in the near future.

Yeah, I'm gonna get that done at some point, but won't be going to the lining. Will put it at the arch, where the intake for the resonance box is atm. I just feel that pug would have put it there for a reason... If it was better at the lining, it wouldn't have cost them anymore to have made the resonance box upside down so the intake was there.

Not too sure. Would have thought they put it where they did as it was the best place. Also, it means less bends in the downpipe to put it at the arch:P

Yeah, but they were doing that because they had the resonance box on to stop noise, so that was a compromise. But perhaps the location they chose in terms of air quality was still the best in that region.

I really don't know, just speculating lol.

Either way, I'm just going to do it like I've drawn on this pic, as it's simplest and probably makes no difference either way Razz

@ adzar - yeah i cut the pipe off the resonator box atm then will get some felx hose to make the air feed. still trying differnt things atm till i find one that works!

Like the red covers in the engine bay Smile a few posts up you said some thing about mpg, is it the filter or center section that has changed it? Other than that has the panel filter made throttle response any better?

old school ftw twed!

@ andrew. its a combination of both that have seen my MPG. and i got the center section done same time as the panel so not to sure how excellent the panel is on its own. but with the exhaust and panel pick up is much smoother and feels alot quicker!

i will be RR'ing the car witha standard air filter and my bmc to see what diff it has as i want to know if all thew work so far has change the figures for sure!

I see on your earlier pictures that you have a lambda sensor on the old manifold, where has this been redirected to on your new raceland one?

Would be good to see you get a dyno graph mate

#80: Re: Danw_VVT 1.4 **UPDATE 26/06/11 **** pg5 Author: Danw_VVT, Location: Herts/London PostPosted: Tue Nov 01, 2011 10:53 am

Same place currently as its a de-cat system. The dyno run is post poned duue to lack of funds for a new hi flow cat. Once I have that the lambda will be relocated to under the car just before the mid section. Then ill bbe getting it dyno'd

So you are getting a cat welded in? Mines on the downpipe you see and I have two lambdas

Hows your mpg with it?

I keep asking you questions haha, but you seem to be getting quite far with 1.4 tuning

Thanks lol.

I have two aswell a pre cat and a post cat sensor. The raceland will accomodate for these, once I get the cat it will be welded in place undeer the car, then I will weld up one of the lambda holes on the raceland and fabricate it to be fuurther down ( after the cat)

If I drive carefully for a week I can normally get 470 miles to a tank. Hard driving it can drop right down to half that. Surprisingly it hasn't effected mpg as much as I estimated Smile

So I haven't uP dated for a while.

Currently the changes are a hi flow cat welded into the front of the mid section with the post cat lambda sensor relocated. This caused a little problem as the sensor was knackered. I then replaced that with a ngk sensor and all seemed ok for a short while. But then the eml and anti pollution fault was back.

After looking into it the hi flow is taking my emmissions slightly out of the tolerances of the ecu. Still mot passable but still flaggin the eml.
With this is mind the car is booked in at AmD Essex for a mil eliminator and stage 1 remap. This is on the 27th. Should be interesting!!

Other then that I've only given her a post winter Swiss vax detail. But then someone keyed down my wing. So within the next month she's going in for a full respray Smile

Dyno prints will be posted after the mapping. Comments welcome!

Bugger to hear you got your wing keyed, always a pain when things need repainting due to someone being stupid

The exhaust sounded lush when I heard it, good to hear you are pushing on with it, I'm interested to see what results you will get Smile

Yeh I needed some re spraying done anyway but still not happy!

Thanks I like it tbh it's a bit quieter now because of the hi flow but still good sounding. The sensor is weird mate so if u do them same exhaust be aware it will annoy you a bit lol

Really looking forward to AmD trip. I know people say not to bother with a 1.4 but ATM I can't leave it where it is because of the irregular running. But hey it will be worth it in my mind

Do you get any popping with the current exhaust set up?

Yes when cold it pops loudly at about 4000rpm gear change and once warm it pops on over rev (5000rpm) and also when cruising or coasting it has a little flurry of pops
