#1: HDI 2.0 engine cover posts (mounts) Author: wifes206, Location: LeicestershirePosted: Sat Jun 19, 2010 8:35 am ---- hi, i looked on the sevice box and as i need new engine cover mounts as the rubbers have pulled off the bolts
but there are two pat numbers
137F6 AND 13768
does anyone no which is the right one or has there been a upgraded part as i know these break alot

how can you tell the new parts from the old ones?
how are they different?

If you are intent on retaing your Engine Cover you would be far better off to make your own clips, all you need is a couple of pairs of pliers and some stainless steel wire and four washers. with the Engine cover in place. Place the washers over the four rubber and metal vibration absorbers, cut and bend four pieces of stainless steel wire so they fit tightlyt into the grooves on the protruding metal pins. That has cost you just a little time, and if you have to replace them the next time you take off the engine cover in didn't cost a fortune either. I agree this doesn't look pretty but who has ever seen a pretty Diesel Engine?
Alternatively you can go to Ebay and purchase the eight pieces for £17 :( and the first time you use the clips they break again or just vibrate to pieces and you lose them. :oops:

It's crazy that such a simple thing cant be overcome when so many car manufactures use the same parts on so many models.
I'll see if I can come up with an innovative answer to the problem then present to "Dragons Den" for funding, lol
