ok so some of you may of read earlier in the week that my turbo went and can i just say that contacts are essential... i picked a turbo up from a c4 that had been crashed from the dealership with only 300 miles on the engine so really and brand new turbo for 200 quid... took it to the family friends garage and he sorted it at the same time there was carbon build up in the manifolds and alot apparently cleaned them out and an oil change all for 80 quid so i now have a new turbo cleaned manifolds and an oil change for £280 not a bad outcome if i do say so myself...

glad it's sorted mate! Smile

yeah, soot can build up in the exhaust manifold and make it's way into the turbo vanes and eventually block them and stop them from moving...

yeh thats what happened the bearing went in the turbo which i think would have been down to the build up of the carbon am no mechanic but i would imagine this would cause a build up of pressure

if it was the bearing, then it's abuild up of crap in the banjo bolt where the oil feed meets the turbo. it's common on fords and the older pugs...
