#1: 1st attempt :) (few pics) Author: Elldan, Location: CoventryPosted: Sun Jul 18, 2010 12:46 pm ---- as my alloys were in a real state and nobody had showed in interest in buying them i decided i needed to sort them out myself. i've never done anything like this before, so here is my progress. (1st wheel only).
before
during
after
it is not quite finished, i plan to go over the polished parts with a smoother sand paper to get it nice and shiny and then laquer. i also plan to paint the front calipers white.
as it has took me all weekend to get this far on one wheel its going to be a while before they are all done lol.
comments welcome

#3: Re: 1st attempt :) (few pics) Author: Elldan, Location: CoventryPosted: Sun Jul 18, 2010 12:56 pm ---- I spent ages rubbing them down with a rough sand paper, my hands hurt now lol. then masked the silver bits off and sprayed the rest matt black. then tidied it all up with a smooth sand paper. they need some lacquer though

#19: Re: 1st attempt :) (few pics) Author: Elldan, Location: CoventryPosted: Tue Jul 20, 2010 11:42 am ---- all you need is plenty of time and sand paper lol.
it seems i should have lacquered them in under 2 hours after painting, leaving it any longer than that will stop the lacquer sticking. so i need to re-paint and also lacquer will not stick to the polished part so for this i have bought some adhesion promoter
