#47: Re: Do I get a 180, or something else? Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2010 3:55 pm ---- the leon as got more tuning abilty i would say and not so much of an image the type r is getting
but the r is still a nice car and will allways be a nice car.
#48: Re: Do I get a 180, or something else? Author: Drake, Location: MidlandsPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2010 4:00 pm ---- Not fuel friendly.

I've worked it out that I can get a lift to work with a co-worker an hour early to cut back on fuel costs.
#50: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else? Author: Drake, Location: MidlandsPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2010 4:07 pm ---- Ah so the not fuel friendly is moot.
Personally I'd get something with a turbo, but that's me

Not just you
A turbo is very appealing as is the i-Vtec.
#52: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else? Author: Locky, Location: Newcastle / PlymouthPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2010 4:15 pm ---- Good choices, but isnt even a decent oldish 2002 / 2003 EP3 Type R over your 4k budget? They are still pulling high 5k.
My mate has a P plate civic thats done more miles than the Millenium Falcon and never been washed and its still going strong and purrs like a kitten.
The type r is a car you can drive comfortably when you want and comes alive when you give it a good spanking - you dont have to murder it.
#53: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else? Author: Hotchy, Location: GlenrothesPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2010 5:11 pm ---- Type r with your budget, would have to be an early one though 2002 ish.. Also who cares about the image when the guy saying *chav in a type R haha* is left in a could of Vtec and Noise! Mmmmm!! I love to rev past 4k so i would!
#54: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else? Author: Drake, Location: MidlandsPosted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 1:11 am ---- I'd still choose a turbo over vtec tho (once again, personal choice/opinion) as the tunability would be much higher and possibly more rewarding (unsure if insurance is a factor in all this).
At the end of the day we can all say what we would do, but you gotta work out what you want from the new car.
#55: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else Author: Antix, Location: WorcesterPosted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 1:43 am ---- TBH if you are 'only' spending £4k on an upgrade you are better off saving-up for a newer car.
The Leon & CTR aren't going to be much newer than your current one and could be just as high mileage-wise. Then there could be issues mechanically (ones that yours has already had).
*if it were me* in your situation I would aim for getting a car for at least £6k and feel safer in the knowledge it is newer and less likely to have issues/wear and tear.
Possible relief of your current boredom with the 206 GTi - make the 205 street-legal and have a blast for a few months LOL
#56: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else? Author: Quarmbo, Location: Bristol & LeicesterPosted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:02 am ---- Civic Type R every day of the week. I know people harp on about an image, but the majority of type r drivers I see down here tend to be middle aged men (like my Dad!)
#57: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else Author: G1ggs, Location: WiganPosted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:42 am ---- Best Type R I could find for under £4000 and with decent miles Red Type R

#59: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else? Author: Quarmbo, Location: Bristol & LeicesterPosted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:54 am ---- Good type R, get that one!
#60: Re: Do I get a 180, Seat LCR, Civic Type R or something else Author: G1ggs, Location: WiganPosted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:58 am ---- You'd have to be quick, I can't see that being there for long, if not already gone!
