#1: Alarm question. Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 4:09 am ---- I don't have an alarm yet all the insurance companies when getting quotes seem to think it does. or does it just have an alarm for when someone attempts to steal it and the imobiliser comes on?

When you turn the wheel without the key it locks.

Also to check if you have an alarm, keep a door open and press the lock button. If it beeps, you have an alarm.

that doesn't work on mine the locks just go down and up. Easiest way my friend is to lock the car and deadlock with the key, wait 10 seconds then unlock the car manually with the key in the door. Open the door and if you hear a loud noise.... you have an alarm

or best way @Rob2859, check on the servicebox, type your VIN in, click characteristics on the left, and bam, it'll tell you whether your car has anti-theft alarm or not
(Although it is possible someone added an aftermarket one)
