#1: Antix ~ The Cab - Pug 205 CTI 1.9 project Author: Antix, Location: WorcesterPosted: Thu Aug 05, 2010 4:29 am ---- Whilst at PugFest 2010 I spotted a stunning 205 CTI 1.9 Cabrio.
A couple of days later I saw it for sale on Pistonheads.
I had to have it LOL
So I eMailed the vendor [from Reading, Berks] an offer to purchase the car. He accepted, so arranged to view/purchase/collect the car.

Non-original green carpet, green Quartet upholstery (from a Sorrento green 205 GTI 1.6). No radio/cassette. 15" Speedline 205 GTI 1.9 alloys with nearly new tyres. Insurance group 14.

I imagine so Timon, although my lights are glass lol
The bottle reads "Greygate plastic polish" and is used by 'leading airline companies' on their fleet

You can get them for £500 on eBay, but you have to buy one with a decent soft top because they are £350+ new. The soft top frame is no longer available, so it will need to be good.
Engine-wise it is cheap to repair/replace, the carpets are expensive because they are different to other 205's, but most other bits can be from other 205's.
The doors and boot are unique, as are the sills [they have strengthened floors which are wider than other 205's]. So panels are quite rare.
The glass rear windows are different on manual roof and electric roof versions.
It is reckoned that there are about 250 CTI's left in the UK [1.6 115bhp or 1.9 105hp] - the 1.9 has more torque, is more economical and more refined, the 1.6 is a bit quicker but older.
Peugeot also made the CJ, with a 1.4-litre engine, but it is rarer and more lethargic. There was a Roland Garros Cabrio too (1.4-litre).
Being made in Italy [by Pininfarina] they don't rust quite as badly as the hatchbacks made in Spain/France/etc.
Basically pay for the best you can afford, there are some good ones out there

Found it on eBay for about £8 posted! Bargain
Oh. It's on my drive. The cat likes the soft-top. My neighbour's house is for sale
CTI will remain 'as is' until the 180 is sold. Once that's gone (and I have space on the drive!) I can fit the rear valance & finish the o/s front wing. Then the seats need sorting.
The CTI is a great little runner, but visually needs a bit of sorting.

#33: Re: Antix ~ The Cab - Pug 205 CTI 1.9 project Author: Antix, Location: WorcesterPosted: Wed Oct 13, 2010 2:53 pm ---- Matt - I've provisionally sold the morettes, sold the alloys, sold the black chrome bonnet vent (the major 'Flame' features) so I can put it more-or-less back to standard.
It will be sold with the S16 PEU plate - simply because the CTI is too old for the plate and the number is inappropriate for the Golf
#34: Re: Antix ~ The Cab - Pug 205 CTI 1.9 project Author: Antix, Location: WorcesterPosted: Wed Oct 13, 2010 2:54 pm ---- Jon - I like the full-chrome frontal aspect, and the alloys ... both suit the colour and car well.
#35: Re: Antix ~ The Cab - Pug 205 CTI 1.9 project Author: Jon, Location: 666ft BelowPosted: Wed Oct 13, 2010 3:00 pm ---- Yeah they do suit it I think, the plan was originally to get the Abarth tinted headlights and Ph2 Tinted fogs, and then get the grilles powdercoated black, will tie the alloys in as they are black with polished faces
Unfortunately, the Abarth lights cost fortune!

The bulge is most noticeable nearest the windscreen
