#18: Re: 206 Finally Out The Bodyshop :-) Author: b47t0n, Location: sheffieldPosted: Sun Aug 15, 2010 4:45 am ---- Not a fan of body kits as they always seem to leave a big gap in the arch which you cannot lower it to solve this as you will rip your bumpers off , so it means bigger wheels
I would have been fan if you kept nimrods painted them gloss black have the colour you chose for the car but
Keep angels loose lexarse lights for some some black ones
And lower it with sp arches and gti bumpers spoiler
But that's me
The main thing is you like it
Oh and the quality and detail to paint work looks amazing

That is possibly the most awful front bumper i've ever seen on a 206, and the back's not much better tbh. And the bonnet.... it's very 2003.
Take those 3 bits out of the equation and add the fact that the paint job looks top notch you'd have a good looking car. But, as it stands, it's horrific.
To those who've commented and not seen Ape's sig, I'd reccommend you have a read.

if its a gti or somthing along then lines then yea itl be ok atleast its kinda done properly, i personaly love modified cars kits thee lot but only when done properly (Calos's, proper show cars etc) witch have the power and so on to go with it but if its a 1.1 then fail! lol
If you read properly you would see that i have actually replaced the engine with a 2 year old 1.4 quiksilver engine ..... im not gonna spent £4000 on a car and run about in a 1.1 beleive me lol !!
#24: Re: 206 Finally Out The Bodyshop :-) Author: Lowercase, Location: East SussexPosted: Tue Aug 17, 2010 5:49 am ---- really not a fan mate, the body kit is just, garish and tacky, the mesh looks like it came off a disposable bbq kit from tesco (black mesh would have looked better) the colour.. just.. no. looks like flip paint wich is now an antique, just..not a fan.
the problem i have with 1.1 (1.4) cars like this, is you spend £4.5k on a body kit and a respray, add a heap of weight to a car that doesnt particuly have a pokey engine to start with, and alright to some it looks like hob nobs and tea (good) but... you go up to it, open the door to get in, and ohh..... youve ruined it by showin people the grey plastic interior and OAP olive green bath tub velore seats.. not cool at all.
i personaly think the 4.5k could have been spent on a better car (xsi, 138, ek vti civic) etc...
i like the wheels though.
sounds like im having a bit of a go but i just dont see the point. if you like it, and its your progect that you wanted to do regardless of the points raised above and in this thread, then no problem, its your moneys.
just my two cents.

I think the bodykit looks to 'boxy' for a 206 which is about smoothness and curves imo
like the bonnet though
