When I accelerate and my revs go above 3500rpm...I get a strange tinny rattling noise which you can hear inside the car....got a funny feeling it could be something simple like the exhaust but would be grateful if anyone has had this problem as dont want to take it to a garage and get shafted!

Exhaust clamp from the Cat to midsection, mine has come loose recently and it rattles at low revs.
Manifold Olive clamp, easy to fix for about £5.
Engine cover? Take it off and see if the rattle is still there, if it goes then follow this guide 206gti.net/enginecover/

Is it easy to solve? Could I get under the car and sort it without chopping my fingers off or is this Mechanic tackle? Thanks again

Could smack the car really hard with a hammer.........it wouldnt solve it but it would feel good.
If you look down the back of the engine you may be able to see it, if you can i think you can tighten it up, failing that take it to a garage.
