2.0 HDi is a beast!

#1: 2.0 HDi is a beast! Author: EDP407, Location: Melksham, Wiltshire PostPosted: Tue Aug 17, 2010 4:59 am

Surprised I have the 2.0 HDi in my 306 but I know it goes in the 206. Last night me and a mate (who has a P reg Saxo VTR) were driving through the country lanes in our home village (perhaps a little fast) and suddenly I hear this scrape noise, look behind and Mr X in the saxo had slid into a good 2-3 ft ditch in the wet :L. I have just got rid of my 1.4 206 for this 2.0 hdi beast so already I was feeling confident. There was 13 men in the end from all the cars that turned up and we could not push this saxo out the ditch. strapped some rope to his rear recovery bracket and to my tow bar, gave a little throttle, turbos whined and out the ditch it came. 2 cars before me had already attempted it, a 1.6 206 and a 1.8 focus, the 2.0 hdi is a beast.

It's a diesel.... :/ yeh that is the only down side especially me being 17 when I trun up with the mates in the car to mcdonalds and theirs all the chavvy fiestas and saxos with the loud exhausts and me with my diesel sound :L still not as bad as a friend who has a 1.9 XUD9 :L that a clatter noise and a half!

when i had my 2l hdi 206 which was mapped with filter and straight through zorst i was coming around a bend when it was really icy to find a micra embedded into the trees/bushes i had a quick talk and went to get a better sling from work as the rop the rover 200 ws using was a bit too thin for my liking

got back and found that the micra had actualy perched itself ontop of a tree stump and couldn't come off so i told him i can get it off but will probably damage your bumper, he said it was ok Razz

hooked the 206 up to it and just a little throttle (about 1000-1250 rpm) she dragged the micra off the stump with no wheel spin of anything, broke the bumper though Razz

the rover was the 1.4 and been trying for well over 20 minutes to get him off xD

youd be doing well to leave a VTS standing in a 206 HDI and a VTR for that matter, unless they were parked ofcourse Razz

I get to drive my sisters HDI 206 every so often and its a great engine, never seems to go wrong, great little runabout.

I love my 2.0HDi, drove it in the snow for the first time this year, just left it in 2nd and it took itself, no problems at all, except the splitter made a good snow plow lol. I'm running decated, fully rebuilt engine and a panel filter, just need a remap and an intercooler to make it faster, as far as it being a diesel, does it really matter? old diesels were jokes, slow and noisy, but the newer ones can be just as good as a petrol, although you may need to spend more money on getting more power
