Well my grandmother has this gorgeous little MG midget in british racing gree, shes had since 1985. she ad the engine rebuilt in 1994 and she only occasionly used it on the road but made sure it was started a minumum off once a week. In 1999 she had a meningitis attack and was left paralised and no memory off anyting, in 2005 she finally came out off hospital, she had to learn simple things like speaking, walking, dressing herself and feeding herself. She can no loger get into the car as it is a difficult job to get down that low. The car hasnt started since 2000 and hasnt moved out off the garage, so she in need off some desperate work, luckily not to bad as she was parked on carpet and wrapped in lots off blankets and douvays. the car has 1167 miles on the newly built enige, but knowing how long its been standing itll probably need to be rebuilt as had half a tank off fuel in it aswell.
Teres hardly any rust on her, some small peices in wheel arches and speckles on the chrome.

Mine and Dave's idea is to get this car back on the road to make my grandmother smile as she hasnt seen it for the 10 years that its been standing.

The Car has got a brand new roof in mint condition and still work to this day, she also as the metal basket carrier on the boot.
Enough off my yabering, here are some small pictures off her as its deep down in the Garage and hard to get too.

Work is going to start in the summer off 2011 Smile

was under it last feb and its still got the black tar stuff underneath it that was done in 1999 while it was in storage, plus shes been sitting on carpet till sept this year as had to be moved the other side off the Garage, only real wear underneath i can see is the suspesion, bushes and wishbones, i know that all four drums ave seized so see if i can recondition them or might just get complete axles as there on the Classic MG forum for £90

only real major rust is in the arces and on boot floor, but i can cut it out and replace it for £70

I must say that of the two worst cars I've ever driven, a Midget was one of them! Brakes were terrible and the steering wheel felt really close to the door. Interior was tiny. A MK3 Escort cabriolet would shame the quality of roof sealing on the MG!

The other worst car was a MK1 Seat Ibiza...awful Fiat build quality and the worlds most sloppy steering.

Good project. Hope it goes well! You think you'll have enough time though...with the impending birth of your child and all that?!
