#1: For those who likes trackdays and want helmetcam.. Author: shaker, Location: AustriaPosted: Fri Aug 20, 2010 7:09 am ---- ...but don't fancy spending alot of money on a good camera and something to mount it on - i bring you, my own little idea.
All you need is:
1) Sticky-tat
2) Something small/light that'll capture video (i used an Ipod Nano)
3) Helmet (Usually required for trackday anyway!)
It's not perfect, as the ipod tends to tilt a wee bit due to the way it's stuck on. I did it that way because i needed to acces the center-button to start video-capture and so that i could see the top of the screen while wearing the helmet, allowing me to see if it actually started recording
edit
btw, was a bit unsure where to post this, if a mod thinks it's more suited somewhere else, please move it Last edited by shaker on Fri Aug 20, 2010 7:14 am; edited 1 time in total

Thats genius - an inventive way for what is otherwise a useless function on an iPod!
Though you may get the odd strange look or two...

well, i've had the ipod for a while now, and helmet even longer.. thinking about getting the helmet painted tho, just need a good design

Only problem with duct tape is that because the helmet bends, it would only touch the ipod on a very small surface. with sticky-tat, i can mold it so it sticks with a larger surface, and still correct it a bit side/side or up/down if needed
