#2: Re: 206 180 remap Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 12:56 pm ---- Not very much to be honest 5bhp if alone with no other mods?

#3: Re: 206 180 remap Author: darrenskinner1, Location: invernessPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 12:59 pm ---- really not worth it then lol
#4: Re: 206 180 remap Author: Quarmbo, Location: Bristol & LeicesterPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 1:04 pm ---- Debatable with the 180's. Funnily enough I was just looking at Brains remaps (with a gsr induction) and RST dyno'ed him at 162 (after a remap and gsr), but then he went to Ecosse who dyno'ed him at 182bhp! Confusing stuff!
#5: Re: 206 180 remap Author: darrenskinner1, Location: invernessPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 1:06 pm ---- hmm, my other options are kent cams, but....
on their site im finding it hard to find them for a 180 and prices

Can of worms......
I've been told the car is alot more responsive and better to drive.

#8: Re: 206 180 remap Author: sniper1, Location: Warwickshire for home-london for workPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 1:08 pm ---- how much you looking to pay for a remap on the 180?
#9: Re: 206 180 remap Author: darrenskinner1, Location: invernessPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 1:08 pm ---- what sorta price we looking at?
#10: Re: 206 180 remap Author: Big_Rich180, Posted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 1:22 pm ---- Sniper1 RS tuning in Leeds charge around £350
Darren to buy them would probably be over £600
#11: Re: 206 180 remap Author: sniper1, Location: Warwickshire for home-london for workPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 1:25 pm ---- how much?!!
i would rather spend the money on a cat back system, induction kit ect then think about having the car remaped and set up.

To be honest, thats what you should do any way really, because a remap will make your car utilise the new parts you have put on, there's not really much point on a non modified car.

Unless you plan to keep it standard that is. Think of it as improving the drivability more than to give more power as it irons out flat spots, makes the throttle more responsive, etc.
#14: Re: 206 180 remap Author: Schumi, Location: Istanbul / TurkeyPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 3:43 pm ---- Power isnt everything. Remap increase drivebilty, low end power, much tork, better response and when driving normal better milage. Do it.

Its funny you say power isnt everything yet you say more torque and low end power
Do the 180's really drive so bad that you want to spend £350???
Probably not
#16: Re: 206 180 remap Author: Schumi, Location: Istanbul / TurkeyPosted: Mon Aug 23, 2010 3:11 am ---- Sorry my mistake. Top end power isnt everything. Maybe your car stock 170 hp and after remap you only get 175 hp top end power but you get better torq and power curve. And better curve is better drive.
#17: Re: 206 180 remap Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Mon Aug 23, 2010 3:17 am ---- the 608 profile Cat Cams are £560 delivered to forum members
#18: Re: 206 180 remap Author: Luke, Location: LeedsPosted: Mon Aug 23, 2010 3:34 am ---- You can never use a cars full BHP on the road. Low range torque is your usable power so I wouldn't even look at the BHP improvement, instead look at lb/ft torque smoother power release and fuelling.
#19: Re: 206 180 remap Author: LilLew, Location: PlymouthPosted: Mon Aug 23, 2010 4:21 am ---- I have contacted a engine tuner in plymouth highly recommended to me by a few people this is what he said about getting my gti 180 remapped.
"We've done a few of these, and the results make it worth doing, from the reports I've had back from customers. You'd gain torque and smoothness, gaining better response from low revs. Superchips quote 10 bhp extra.
The cost is £239 inc vat, which includes a dyno test.
It's done serially, and takes around 1.5 hours."

£239 is a good price, but to be fair anyone who is trying to sell you a remap or anything is going to say its worth it, but at £239 i'd consider it.
#21: Re: 206 180 remap Author: Ali_H, Location: Chichester, SussexPosted: Mon Aug 23, 2010 5:13 am ---- I'd imagine that's a generic map rather than custom for that price.

I agree. Any person in that shop can just bang it on then. Get more cars done.
#23: Re: 206 180 remap Author: Waynerrr, Location: Oxford, UKPosted: Mon Aug 23, 2010 8:26 am ---- I've always seen the rev limiter increased during remaps at request. 9k ftw!
#24: Re: 206 180 remap Author: LilLew, Location: PlymouthPosted: Mon Aug 23, 2010 9:25 am ---- i know there maps are custom because my dads knows the guy that does the remapping for alan jefferys and yes i thought that they were just trying to sell me a remap but i did not know my dad knew the guys from there until i spoke too him bout gettin mine done i am booking my in for th 15th ill post my results up

not sure 9k would work on a 180 engine, according to pug 7200rpm doesnt work either

#27: Re: 206 180 remap Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Mon Aug 23, 2010 9:39 am ---- anything over 7500 kiss your rods goodbye

Dont go higher than 7500. Con rods fine. It can handle low boost with 7500. Or N/A 7800. But real problem ise sleevs. That reason Peugeot update ECU software and decrase rev limiter tu 6900. And long uase after 7500 rpm damage your VVT pulley on your intake cam.
#29: Re: 206 180 remap Author: darrenskinner1, Location: invernessPosted: Tue Aug 24, 2010 8:12 am ---- yeh its more for the way the car drives etc,i think im due a timing belt, sometimes in the morning when i start the 180 it revs really low and when i press the accelerator there's not very much response for around 5 seconds, its kinda strange.......
just out of curiousity what sorta bhp can you expect from cams?
