However as far as progression goes..newer cars are tending to have smaller engines and turbos as standard. Disregarding the power output (which is marginal in difference) I like the idea of a turbo because it opens up a world of opportunity in terms of tuning. And theyre not bad looking cars either - seen a few at shows that have really made the 207 grow on me. A difficult choice but the 207 for me is a step above the 180.

Insurance is cheaper on the THP group 15 vs 17 for the 180
power is at 175 out of the box vs varying amounts on the 180 but rarely anything over 175
torque at 200lbs on over boost vs about 150/160 on the 180
Tax £180 this year vs £210(?)
Mpg currently running at 40.3 taking it easy vs not sure but won't be as good from what I read
But... its heavy and I mean uber heavy
Understeer is a b***h and no lift off oversteer... tbh not much in it wait for the new 208gti would be my suggestion

It's a bigger car too, i could only imagine it feeling a little tamer than the slightly older 206. You'd have to chat to someone who has driven both i suppose?! The insurance drop for the 207 will be 1.6 vs 2.0, but you'd think the turbo addition would even things out?

IMO, the 207 is a far superior build quality then the 206! even the base model 207's feel so much more solid and well built! the 206 in comparison just feels so cheap! it really does!
performance and handling wise. there's a tiny bit of understeer (maybe because of the electronic steering crap?) and with it being a bigger and heavier car, it doesn't really help much. it rolls a little in the corners but its never let go on me (only when i was bing a complete tit! lol).
so, to sharpen things up a little, you can get some lowering springs. my eibach pro-kit 30mm ones are the danglies! and you can give it a good custom map and get it upto 200hp+! (wojuld be advisable as they run very lean as standard) plus a whole lot more torque!

207 is the better out of all I have driven.

That doesn't have to be your opinion Stu...it's fact! Although the gti 180's are better built than others, peugeot wanted to make sure of it so it looked that much better than the 138.

it'll be the 1.6HDi (DV6ATED4). there's 2 versions of it. the 110 version has a better turbo and different injectors too.

It didn't really make any noise and didn't feel like a sporty car.. It had that sort of salesmen feel to it, it went very quick but had no soul. So for that, 180 any day
