Could that be an abused engine and gearbox? Laughing

One time I just just went for it in 2nd and it was approaching 70mph before the limiter came in.

Abused much Shocked

Burga-hdi is selling his 1.4hdi, its a really very nice car indeed, very nippy and was faster than my XS.

tbf his car was quite quick for a 1.4hdi, although it's had a map & decat (iirc) - not sure what else powerwise it's had done to it.. But dayyummmm it's sexually low Wink lol!

My run up is:
£200 for the Ss exhaust and decat.
20 for a KandN filter.
£250 for all the FMIC bits and bobs (Ic, Piping, Slim Fan, boost gauge)
£300ish for the map...

That's doing all work pretty much myself (not the exhaust)... But can lead anything up to £1500 if garages are doing it all.

But then don't forget you may need extra things: Sports Clutch, bigger brakes etc Depending on what it's being used for etc.

Yeah, I knew you wouldn't believe it. I didn't myself. I had a friend in the car when I did it and he was ZOMGWTFBBQ! I also got to 85 in 3rd - again feel free not to believe me, I probably wouldn't if it was anyone else. The car had been modded when i got it, so I don't know if they did some serious upgrades. Or maybe it was just wind with slight downhill, whatever. And yes, I felt bad after I did it. Never again, or maybe once, just to make sure it wasn't fluke Razz

EDIT: Also I said 'approaching' so it was like 67 or 68. Just thought it would sound stupid if I gave a precise figure.

so you got 70 in 2nd, then changed gear and only got 15mph out of 3rd gear?

No, the 3rd gear one was on a separate occasion and I could tell it was almost on the limiter, but didn't want to go right up to it.

Yes, that goes without saying. I'm actually a very reserved driver. Mainly because the difference in petrol consumption base on how you drive is huge. Before I thought it was just to get people to drive sensibly and barely had any impact, but it really does. That MPG calculator on the centre console rules me, haha! 999,9MPG cannot be argued with lol

Yeah, it works in 5th too. Always a challenge to try to get it up to it, haha. Sorry for sending this topic off course btw. Do you have the standard air intake system at the moment, as I'm sure you know, induction kits increase consumption and may lose you some power.

yeah got standard panel until i can get the money for my bmc panel. what about yourself?i was running a cone but was completely astonished at the heak soak of it!

The car came with a cone, but it was fitted to the bottom of the air box so air could be drawn in through the drain unfiltered! It's got a standard paper filter and resonance box on atm. I quite like the idea of using down pipes to replace the resonance box and put a performance filter in the airbox. Why bmc rather than K&N?
