Three specalist tools, my engine was basically taken out. The belt kits are expensive, I got mine from all parts for £90 including tensioners in the ends. Just say that to they that Euro Car parts are doing them for £92 or something.
My local garage charged me £200 to do mine. And they had two guys working all day on it. Went and spoke to one of the guys about it and he just said "what a complete pain in the as*!".
ECP cambelts are 'Gates', who supply cambelts to peugeot.
I got my cambelt kit for £46 from GSF, water pump from ECP and all bits came to about £100 all-in.
Kyle [gti180boy] fitted the parts in Stafford - took about 4hrs or so, but he knows what he's doing.
Total came to about £220 fitted (from memory)

It looks very different from the standard GTI as you cant remove the crank pulley like the gti. Is there a guide to offer some advice on this?

From working on Pugs before a Peugeot tool is a 6mm drill or a bit of welding rod. I want a guide to see what the process is as the crank pulley has no way to lock like the gti engine

That's correct on an old TU / XU lump
This ISN'T an old TU / XU lump, either use the correct timing tools for the EW lump or risk trashing your engine.

I didnt use any fancy Peugeot tools to change it. 2 x 6mm drill bits for locking the cams and a made up bracket to lock the flywheel.
Once that was all done it was no different from any other belt change. No trickery. I had the engine out the car but to do the belt including making the flywheel lock tool took 1 hour.
