#18: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: Dabamash, Location: The car in frontPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:30 pm ---- I like it. Spoilers balance out the 206 really well. I should get one really.
I suggest some funky alloys next
#19: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: rudebwoi93, Location: LondonPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:32 pm ---- Some nimmies would set that off nicely I reckon, how much did that spoiler come to fitted mate?
#20: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:47 pm ---- Cheers I didn't trust myself to do it properly and could picture myself spilling tiger seal all over the car, so I got the peugeot dealership to buy one, paint it and bolt and bond it on for £218, some may say too expensive but they replaced my worn out bulbs and topped all the levels off for me, and I trusted they would do a top job which they have My car has been behaving better on startup today as well, I don't know if they cleaned the idle valve for me or something
Next up is alloys, would love some 16" Tempests from the accessory brochure, have been looking on ebay and found the 307 ones have a different variant that look the same called 'Cotya', which I'm told are not suitable for the 206. I've been quoted by my dealer for 206 fitment Tempests with Avon 195/45 tyres fitted at £700ish. I figured that even if I bought some from ebay and bought tyres myself and had them fitted at a local garage it would probably cost around £700 anyway, so I'm now saving up for the dealership to do it
Since losing my apprentice job I've not had that extra money recently but my mate has told me a couple of people are leaving his work and I've applied online, would get those alloys much quicker then!
#21: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: mattievrs, Location: LeicesterPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:56 pm ---- looks well mate! Id have a long hard think about the alloys too as so many people do the nimmy etc etc route and it would be great to see something completely different!
#22: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2010 2:09 pm ---- Thanks, and I'm specifically avoiding Vortexs and Nimrods for that reason!
Edit: I've been thinking today that with winter coming up, tempests being so hard to find second hand and £730 new, would it be worth me getting 14" Tornado alloys that came on the sport and verve models?
I was talking with my dad about what would look better; there is always going to be that gap between the wheel arch and the tyre (it isn't going to be lowered) would the combination of this plus 16" alloys and 195/45 profiles look out of proportion? Perhaps the 14" Tornado's would keep things in proportion - and are found in abundance on ebay for cheap prices. If I went for these, I would have so much more money to spare and wouldn't be making the car look something its not, and could use the savings to get them powdercoated gunmetal grey or similar
Whats everyones opinions? Last edited by Andrew on Thu Sep 23, 2010 5:30 am; edited 2 times in total

Hmmn, they do look good, but the problem is, as they are only 14" they will look good initially, but after a while you are going to get bored of them, and wish you'd got something bigger, like some nimrods, i reckon 16" and bigger to keep it looking good.
#24: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Thu Sep 23, 2010 5:33 am ---- I think I shall, I changed my mind a day or so after that post for the same reason you say. I have a thread I've made for all the questions I might ask about alloys to save making a new thread all the time, basically I'm trying to think what size alloys will look more in proportion with my standard (tractor) suspension and small brakes, 15" or 16"? I'm going for the peugeot tempests still, but buying the alloys myself and getting my own tyres for the 15" will save £80 over the 16", although 16" will give wider tyres
im going for hocks for summer most likely to be diff and nimrods for winter or maybe sciroccos
#26: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Wed Sep 29, 2010 1:01 pm ---- Small Update!
Small update though nothing major, I really like the gti and cc sterring wheels, and not wanting to dismantle my own I looked for an improvisation. This is how the interior looks now, for some reason all the leathers look different colours on the picture but they are pretty much all the same shade in person
Taken me over an hour to stitch it all up!
Have realised I have a lot of things I could flog on ebay to save up for some alloys. Definately going with 16", Peugeot Tempests are looking the favourite but Autec Type Z and Fox FX004 are also contenders Last edited by Andrew on Sun Nov 21, 2010 4:06 pm; edited 2 times in total
I really dont like the look of that cover if Im honest.
#28: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Wed Sep 29, 2010 1:09 pm ---- Nahh just the rubber, and fair enough I appreciate the opinion, though it does look better in person and doesn't slip at all. Thats me on a budget for ya
#29: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: rudebwoi93, Location: LondonPosted: Fri Oct 01, 2010 7:13 am ---- I agree with daba on that one unfortunately. I will probably be fitting a gti steering wheel, eventually that is lol!!
#30: Re: Andrew's 206 1.4 SP Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Fri Oct 01, 2010 12:46 pm ---- Hey you can't win 'em over all the time I like it and I've had thumbs up from people who've seen it in person, and for £15 I ain't knocking it lol. I did want a black and red leather wheel from the convertable, but I don't exactly have loads of money to burn and I thought compromise and get the leather wheel cover instead, and use what I would have saved for some alloys
heres a new picture of the car
Alloys are next up, which is going to take some saving up for so you may not see any real update for a while. I had an e-mail back from my local dealer today telling me that the 16" Tempests appear to be unavailable, so this makes my decision on alloys to go to Nimrods again, maybe not as original as I first planned but I plan on having them powdercoated to make them just a little bit different, I'm going to go for a light shade of Anthracite.
