Hi folks, new to this site and was hoping you could help - I just aquired a set of 17" 307 alloys (Challanger alloys i think) for my sons 206 1.4.

Tried an alloy on the front and it would have been touching the spring, I take it that these will need spacers to make them fit properly?

Any advice would be appreciated as I want to surprise my son but I'm pretty clueless with these things.

Cheers,
Bob.

Chances are the tyre profile is wrong, if it's the same tyres that were on the wheels when they were taken off the 307 chances are they'll be too wide, hence why they'd hit the spring.

IIRC it should be 195 / 40 / 17.

Thanks for quick replies.

G. - They are fitted with 205/50/17 tyres, which are 20mm wider than the 195's so does that mean that 20mm spacers would rectify the problem and clear the bottom of the spring? Or am I going to have to stop being a tight-wad and buy new tyres for them?

Cheers again,

Bob.

Yeah the tyre profile is too big... Get 205/40/17 tyres on and you should be fine Very Happy

He's already got them fitted Laughing 205 / 40 is fine with the 7J wide 206 Atlantis / Vortex, think it's 195 / 40 for the 6 or 6.5J wide 307 Challengers.

EDIT: You could buy spacers, but then you'd need extended bolts too. It's a bit of faffing around tbh. Tyres in the correct profile - job jobbed.

I would rather pay for spacers if that would work as that would be cheaper - is that not an option?

cheers,

Bob

sorry G. - just saw your edit lol
