Interior it depends what model 2.0 HDI you get i had a d turbo so had cloth sports seats in it, in red n black

Best car in the 206 range (apart from a 180) IMO. A great all rounder.

Couldnt disagree with you more here.
They have got some poke when you need it, they are not that noisy at all well mine isnt. Clutch is fine not heavy at all and the fuel consumption is very good in town and out.

You would expect that is a bigger engine and has way more torque but it really isnt heavy to be honest.

Gearbox is massivley better than the 1.1/1.4 box. Its really got a great pull 2-4k brilliant on motorways.
As long as you can live with a 4k max rev and no red line high reving petrol eating fun then i suppose there good....

Author: hdipower, Location: LincolnPosted: Thu Sep 09, 2010 5:41 pm ---- Its ok. it will rev to just inside the 5000 rpm line but i wouldnt advise it as i thought mine was about to explode, plus it gets off the turbo about 4000rpm. fuel wise its not bad but if you thrash it its not what you will expect it goes down as a petrol does. i drive everywhare with the a/c on which hammers diesel. It could really do with an extra 20bhp really so either a remap or intercooler or both would really help as it is slightly sluggish. 40-90mphh though in 4th and 5th will put a smile on your face however even when its completley standard

Plenty of torque and runs pretty smooth, obviously not as quick off the line as a petrol variant but who wants to rag their car at every set of lights? Clutch seems fine to me and I've driven a few cars in my time! Standard 206 problems - squeaks, etc. Good on the motorway and good with fuel if driven well.

At present it is doing a 100-mile-a-day commute, on a main A-road with only a few short stretches of dual-carriageway, and 22 roundabouts each way . Since August 1 it has averaged 54.8mpg, and on a trip from the Midlands to Crawley and back - all motorway - it averaged 59.5mpg.
I've put the Road Trip Lite [link opens in iTunes] app on my iPod Touch. It's a really useful free App which keeps a record of how much fuel you use, the cost and the consumption figures. A paid-for version lets you keep a record of all your expenses.
The 206 is not often driven hard but my wife, whose own car is a 1.7 Puma, describes it as "no slouch" when it comes to overtaking, though she does find the narrow power band, compared with her own car, means you have to be in just the right gear before you even think about it.
