#94: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: imjeeves, Location: Glasgow / WellingPosted: Fri Jan 07, 2011 2:46 pm ---- Did you have to move the radiator out the way for that length?
#95: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Sat Jan 08, 2011 3:27 am ---- Yes.... I fitted a toyota corolla rad, lowered the Xmember and made new top brackets and with no A/C to worry about you get a few inches forward too
#96: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Sun Jan 09, 2011 11:04 am ---- Bit more progress today.... stripped out a spare gearbox and fitted the quaife ATB LSD and bought a better ratio CWP which means the car will now have a final drive ratio of 4.176:1.... should give it a little more zip out of the corners
#97: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: st3v3n, Location: Liverpool Drives: 206 GTiPosted: Sun Jan 09, 2011 1:07 pm ---- What did you get that CWP out of? and what torque did you tighten the CWP bolts up to?
When I took mine out they were proper f****d. The threads were almost stripped and when I ordered more they have now been superseded. Couldn't find any proper info so took them to 105Nm
#98: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: imjeeves, Location: Glasgow / WellingPosted: Sun Jan 09, 2011 1:19 pm ---- I have a 4.4 cwp mate if you are looking for one?
#99: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: st3v3n, Location: Liverpool Drives: 206 GTiPosted: Sun Jan 09, 2011 1:31 pm ---- What's the standard one? I need to spend a bit more time with mine as it is now and see how I feel it needs improving.

Its out of a Citroen Berlingo 1.6... as for the bolts, They always look stripped when you take em out, I usually take them up to 100Nm with studlock

Standard is 3.8:1 approx I think
#103: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: imjeeves, Location: Glasgow / WellingPosted: Mon Jan 10, 2011 8:02 pm ---- Yeh standard is 3.8 which has really poor acceleration I found. We have a 4.89 fitted in our car and use a 4.4 if it is really high speed tarmac as we would be on the limiter all the time otherwise.
4,4 cwp is £150
#104: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: st3v3n, Location: Liverpool Drives: 206 GTiPosted: Wed Jan 12, 2011 1:43 am ---- What max speed do you get with the 4.4? Mine currently bounces off the limiter at 130 in 5th lol
#105: Re: Macs rally 206 project (Combe pictures by Ape) Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Wed Jan 12, 2011 2:20 am ---- I usually gear for 100mph on the straight on the soft limiter.... most clerks of the course try to aim at 90mph maximum and will whack a chicane in the longer straights to acheive this. Not sure what you would get with a 4.4 but it may be close if you have your limiter set at 7000rpm on 600mm wheels
