#1: Engine cover? Author: myke, Location: United KingdomPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:00 am ---- Hiya,
ever since my Dad bought his 607 TDI sport or whatever it is I've been jealous of how good his engine bay looks, it kinda looks like this (but it's not, and has like huge thick hoses coming from it)
But you get the jist about the engine cover.
My engine bay looks like this:
But with an ugly looking rocker cover which is slightly dirty and few marks on it.
I'm wondering if I can buy anything for it like my Dad's? just an engine cover really. It has the slide fitting thing for it, I think.
Mine is a 1.4 petrol 2002 reg ... just wondering because it would certainly look better than the rocker there atm!

#3: Re: Engine cover? Author: Mikey2uk, Location: StevenagePosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:02 am ---- Nope I dont think you can to be honest, best bet is to clean it up and maybe paint the rocker cover.
#4: Re: Engine cover? Author: myke, Location: United KingdomPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:03 am ---- I didn't know you could paint the rocker cover, I thought maybe it would get too hot
#5: Re: Engine cover? Author: Mikey2uk, Location: StevenagePosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:03 am ---- Use high temp paint mate and you will be fine
#6: Re: Engine cover? Author: myke, Location: United KingdomPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:04 am ---- Cheers Mikey, that might just be a new project for me then!
40 quid to make it look nice isnt really worth it haha, think i'll stick to mikey's idea of painting it, ta mate.
#7: Re: Engine cover? Author: ChinaB, Location: TynesidePosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:06 am ---- Check out the How To... section on here, there's a couple of guides.
#8: Re: Engine cover? Author: Mikey2uk, Location: StevenagePosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:07 am ---- That wouldnt fit anyway I would of thought, painting is easier mate. Just make sure it cleaned and prepped correctly, you will be fine
