#1: Removing Door plastic mouldings, best way? Author: 206-GTi, Location: EssexPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 1:44 pm ---- Sorry if this has been posted before (done a search but could not find anything) but what is the best way to remove the plastic moundings (or bump strips) on a 3 door.
I don't really want to remove the door card and pop them out, I started tugging on one but broke one of the catches, seems the clips are really strong which are holding it on. However there must be a good way to do it, surely?
Or if anyone has set for the doors for sale PM me

bui dont take cards of just slide them one way a bit then unhook the hook thats on one end. thats the way i do it.

I tried sliding the moulding across but seems it stops half way and won't go any further.

I don't care for the clips, I've ordered some for replacement I started the tugging the strip and I broke one of the catches on the actual moulding so stopped and have left it :(.

Author: kencogurl, Location: Carmarthen - WALESPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 2:15 pm ---- Don't Pull them off please, you will bend the moulding and ave to get new strips. The only safe way to do it is to push the clips out from inside the door (take door cards off) and then go to peugeot and ask for the clips there like 6p each and for a 3 door there's ushally 12 on eac side give or take

Author: Anony-X, Location: NorwichPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 4:45 pm ---- the clips are sliders, just take the moulding and, for the doors, gently apply pressure on the strips directing the pressure to the back of the car and you will be able to remove the strips without damaging them or the clips and also refrain from removing the door cards. Same principle with the mouldings on the rear quatre except this time you apply pressure directing to the front of the car.
It was over a year ago i did this, but im pretty sure what i said is accurate, you will need your door open to remove the moulding as there is a catch on the strip.

I can't remember off the top of my head, but you need to try and slide them rather than pull. I think G. remembers how to do it right? I've forgotten!
