#1: Cambelt prices and parts for XSi Author: bogginz, Location: Stoke On TrentPosted: Mon Sep 13, 2010 5:07 am ---- Hiya, I'm looking to get my cambelt changed even though my car has only done 35,000 miles, it's 7 years old and I'm paranoid...
So out of the 2 quotes I've had so far the Pug main dealers is the cheapest at £170 inc vat, fitted. Compared to a local Pug specialist who wanted £220 all in.
Just wondered if this sounds right?
The quote for the cambelt part alone was £38 but I have read that you'll need tensioners etc at the same time.
So my questions are...does this look like the quote is only for changing the belt and what bits do I need to make sure are included [tensioners, water pump? etc]
Just so I can double check the quote without sounding like a total moron they can sell more stuff to.
Cheers!

it does look that the price from pug is just belt and not tensioners the £220 is prop with tensioner but i would 100% change water pump on your which again will increase the bill but you need it done.

He's a top mechanic and a great bloke. He'll sort you out!
