#4: Re: Back box Author: Danny., Location: PeterboroughPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:00 pm ---- My next 2 questions are.
What is the size of the hole in the bumper on a 1.4 LX
Also can you do it without jacking the car up?
Guessing it would be harder?
#5: Re: Back box Author: mattievrs, Location: LeicesterPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:01 pm ---- easiest if you back the car onto some ramps then get under it.you should be able to fit a 4 inch tail pipe in the hole id guess.
#6: Re: Back box Author: Danny., Location: PeterboroughPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:05 pm ---- Right ok gunna have to look for some ramps then :L
Yea im not after performance or sound really just the looks
#7: Re: Back box Author: Mattie-RS, Location: A Track near you ;)Posted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:22 pm ---- Definatly need it on ramps or jacked up, unless your really skinny and small
And what t'other mattie said, about 4inch fills it nicely
#8: Re: Back box Author: Danny., Location: PeterboroughPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:57 pm ---- Yea im not skinny or small :L Gunna be a pain finding ramps. dont really fancy buying some just for this :/
#9: Re: Back box Author: meady, Location: basingstokePosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:59 pm ---- i aint small or skinny either and i managed, it makes it a bit more awkward buut it still do able
#10: Re: Back box Author: Teebag, Location: exhall, bedworth, coventryPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 3:46 pm ---- easy so long as you get the right one for your car. can get others to fit but probably need brackets moving etc.
btw gotta 4" oval supersprint backbox off a gti if your interested.
#11: Re: Back box Author: Mattie-RS, Location: A Track near you ;)Posted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 3:51 pm ---- if you carnt get ramps, try parking it one side on the curb so it raises it a lil bit!
#12: Re: Back box Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 4:14 pm ---- You don't need ramps at all I've done it without it's not hard at all you just have to lie down flat and is a bit more awkward
#13: Re: Back box Author: E5GDM, Location: EssexPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 4:27 pm ---- It's wasy to hcnage the chape.
#14: Re: Back box Author: T_bandery, Location: East londonPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 4:38 pm ---- find two old bricks and reverse the back onto them, or as mentioned above, reverse it onto a kerb
