Hi Guys.
The Gti 180 clutch is notorious for shudder, and although I am pretty used to mine, its probably time I looked at replacing it. I am reluctant to get an original clutch for it as it may just get the same problem over time. Is there a replacment clutch that eliminates the problems that these have.
For those not familiar with this probably: it can take a little while to get used to the 180 clutch. Some rev the car to 2000 to get them off the mark. I dont do that, but it definitely takes a bit of practice. Apparently the throwout bearing is also a cause of these probs s well.
Thanks for any help .
Cheers
Burwhale

Sachs or Luks are good aftermarket clutches, and as you say it's usually the thrust bearing that goes.
