clean face of inlet (took me ages)
gasket in place
all pretty much back together
well, so far i have sorted the idling problem at long last soo happy about that, and with the removal of resonator i have noticed a slight increase in the induction noise and seems to pull abit better aswell, not sure if it has done anything with the bhp or not im not too sure on but will find out next time its on the rollers

#26: Re: Pug 306 XSi-6 Author: blade, Location: ManchesterPosted: Mon Jan 17, 2011 3:19 pm ---- well i was bored with the plane looking engine bay so thought i would freshen it up abit by spraying a few bits got these to start with but will be doing the cam covers then giving it a real good clean, heres from start to finish
all clean
sanded
primered and sanded
colour coat
ECU cover with final coat of colour
battery cover with 1st coat of lacquer
all done with rattle cans in the garden in the cold with halfords own sprays
will update it again once there fully dry and ive wet sanded and polished and there back in the engine bay
#27: Re: Pug 306 XSi-6 Author: blade, Location: ManchesterPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 2:10 pm ---- put back in the engine bay now, only probably is that the engine is minging, and they look silly being the only spotless things in there but here are the pics
once fully dried i will be taking off again and wetsanding so they are silky smooth and polish up so there shiney clean again
#28: Re: Pug 306 XSi-6 Author: blade, Location: ManchesterPosted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 5:56 pm ---- well, its been for a wash and wax and been to get some pics, its in desperate need of a good detail, but that can wait for another time
#29: Re: Pug 306 XSi-6 Author: blade, Location: ManchesterPosted: Thu Feb 03, 2011 12:17 pm ---- WetSand Time
Following on from spraying and letting the lacquer harden, i thought it was time to wetsand and polish these bits not finishd them yet, but did a quick tester last night, was wetsanded with 1200grit as i didnt have any finer, so here are the pics,
Half sanded half polished
heres some with a torch to show minor swirls (which will be gone)
was polished with my machine polisher, wasnt done properly was only testing as only passed once for about 1-2mins, but will get done propper once i get time
#30: Re: Pug 306 XSi-6 Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Thu Feb 03, 2011 2:17 pm ---- Why are you spending time painting plastic bits and making them pretty but not cleaning all the other engine bay parts?
It's like a woman rolling around in a muddy field and without having a wash she puts all her makeup on. A clean engine bay is much nicer than a grubby bay with some tarted up plastic parts.
