Yea you can get them slot cheaper from mot stations. The mot rate is set by vosa so you find that most dealerships like mine stick to that price but smaller places charge less.

Isnt the actual costof the MOT only like £3 or something small, the rest is the labour charges, so garages can charge what ever they want, but if you pay a cheap one, they might pick up a few more problems for you!

See if your local council does them; they often have their own MOT unit to manage their fleets and they have to offer it to the public. They don't do the repairs so there's no incentive for them to fail you.

Mine doesn't (I get a MOT and service from my local friendly garage) but worth checking out?

The less you pay the more faults they'll find. Razz

Had mine done at JustMots this morning - Been going to them for about 3 years now with my 2 cars and they have not failed either yet. I always go round the cars checking everything I can and rectify any faults I find prior to puting them in for the test.
JustMots have no financial reason to fail them as they don't carry out any kind of repair service to failed vehicles. If they do fail, you can take the car back within 10 days and they retest free of charge.
Advanced online booking fee is £25.
