#12: Re: My Max Power shoot! PIC HEAVY! Author: timpug206, Location: Lincoln, East Midlands.Posted: Thu Sep 30, 2010 1:12 pm ---- yeh, they saw my car at trax, and rang me asking if i could do an interview, when they came to talk to me, i was with my friend max, they liked his car too they wnted a double feature, but its luck if you get in the magazine, as lots of people around this time of the year have just finished there season and the cars are looking very nice, so they just pick there fav at the end of the month and decide which to put in the magazine. So fingers crossed.

#16: Re: My Max Power shoot! PIC HEAVY! Author: |SGP|, Location: Truro/Falmouth, CornwallPosted: Thu Sep 30, 2010 1:31 pm ---- They are pretty poor quality shots for a national magazine, are you 100% sure the shots here were taken by a photographer for max power? they havn't used a polarising filter, there's one shot out of focus, bad composition and the levels are completely off. doesn't look like a high quality camera either.
looks like a rookie job to me, The last one is the only one with any promise.
When are they photoshopping to improve them?
Sorry for the downer, but if these are max power's pics then I could get a job with them in a flash. And I can't, so I smell BS.

+1, looks nothing special. No offence.
#19: Re: My Max Power shoot! PIC HEAVY! Author: |SGP|, Location: Truro/Falmouth, CornwallPosted: Thu Sep 30, 2010 1:42 pm ---- hmmm.. I'd be wary of him still! Unless he can show you ID and his name in Max Power as a photog. lol.
Sorry if I sound like an ass, it's just that I'm a photographer and I've been studying alot of car photo techniques lately, to use myself. These pics break every rule I've read about. and although your car is really nice, the photos really don't do it justice!
If I was closer, I'd offer to do them myself and show you how they should look! haha!
I should also add, they're not BAD pictures, but they're just not max power stadards I wouldn't have thought. They're still good pics of your car!

#24: Re: My Max Power shoot! PIC HEAVY! Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Thu Sep 30, 2010 2:25 pm ---- There's a lot nicer cars than that, plus it doesn't seem modified enough for Max Power. Plus don't they normally have s*****rs all over the cars?
And i agree with the photography comment, they don't seem that good quality.

They are god awful photos. I've worked as a photographer when I was a student and if I had sent photos in like that - they wouldn't have been accepted.
What did he take the photos with? Looks like they were done with some cheap compact. And one with a finger print on the left hand side

I'm tempted to go round to garages with samples of my work asking if I can take pics of the cars on a quiet day, just to get some experience as I don't have any car work.

I've had plenty of so-called "photographers" come up to me in the past at cruises asking if I wanted my 306 featured. It turns out they just want to take photos for their own portfolios.
Can't be the case with this guy though as his skills are non-existent and his photos s**t. He has a long way to go
