Hi guys, had my car Dyno'd today @ Talk of The Devil in Uxbridge.

BHP came out at 163 and Torque came out at 140lbs/ft

Was wondering if this normal for a 180?

I've got a Pipercross Viper Induction and Scorpion Exhaust. All the fuel ratio reading are fine and the car is running fine.

Gotta admit was gutted as was expecting alot better from it. Dyno was reading correctly.

True what Mattie said. Wouldnt be to hard to get a bit more power out of it tho just depends on how much you want to spend

If that's 163bhp at the wheels, that's pretty good. That would be near enough 180 @ the flywheel, the figure pug quoted & named the car after.

If it was 140nm torque it is 103.26lb.ft - that's one very sick puppy Confused

If it was 140lb.ft, it is pretty low for a 180

EDIT: my figures (12/9/09) are 167.4bhp/153lb.ft (Viper & Janspeed)

Check you VVT selenoid. If it fail you can never seen any CEL or diagnostic information.

Mine put out 169.9 with a Pipercross induction kit on it. I've not had it done with the Janspeed on it though.

If it helps the clio's are the same, i think a few VW's are the same aswel. For some reason they just dont make the power and pug took it upon them selfs to lie about the output.

VW 'usually' underquote their figures.
This year's RSTuning saw my Golf TSI at 160.4bhp/180lb.ft at 1000 miles (VW figures 160bhp/177lb.ft). Most of the other cars were under-performing due to the hot weather

Think it was to compete with the Clio 172/182 that it was targeting.

180's come out the factory with 177ps, which is 173bhp standard?! roughly? so not far off..

Your torque seems a bit low..

mine standard was 161.6 bhp and 147 torque, then with new filter and exhaust was 169,2bhp and 154 torques.

chances are that your car will be less power than standard if it has the pipercross and the scorpion exhaust. everybody puts them on as they think it gains you power when nine times out of ten you actally lose power. the extra noise makes you think its quicker lol. most induction kits are fitted incorrectly causing warm air to be sucked into the engine therfore resulting in loss of power, ( if they were that good wouldnt all car manufacturers fit them to hot hatches as standard if its such a cheap easy way to gain bhp) and the exhausts normally cause you to loose back pressure again resulting in power loss. my friend has a megane f1 230, had it on the rolling road, then fitted a K & N induction kit and rolling roaded it again the same day and the loss was incredible, 13bhp iirc. you notice more difference by running your car on higher octane fuel and keeping your tyre pressures correct than changing an air filter or exhaust.
