Does anyone or have any one ever put a bigger engine in a smaller engine car?

ive got a 1.1 and the engine is just all over the place, (nacked basically)
and i've seen a 1.4 engie on ebay would it be possible to add this engine to the car? would the car handle it?

can put any engine in

Id say go for the 1.6 8v as its a very similar engine, just bigger bore size, and direct fit!!

If you put the 1.6 engine it will increase your tax to like £200 odd a year, were as the 1.4 tax is £125 for a year Smile

Why not put in the GTi engine?

the 1.4 and 1.6 8 valve engines will bolt straight in and will require very little wiring to get it running assuming u put a non plexed (pre 2001ish) into a non plexed car of vice versa

the gti engine is a lot more involved uses a different gearbox more wiring different exhaust etc plus a lot more parts will need upgrading such as brakes and suspension to cope with it

if your car is pre 2001 then id def go for the 1.6 8v out of a pre 2001 also

engines on ebay and that mostly come with gearbox ecu and loom, so its a simple out with the old in with the new,
